According to a new study from Britain, nearly a third of men admit to being distracted by women's short skirts while driving in the summer, a statistic an insurance company says explains the higher number of accidents in summer months.
UK auto insurance company Sheila's Wheels told the Telegraph men make 16.4 percent more accident insurance claims during summer than the rest of the year, and that 25 percent of male drivers have had a summertime crash or near-miss in the last five years. Only 17 percent of women drivers crashed in the summer over the same period.
Sheila's Wheels explained the higher claim rates, "In the summer but men are significantly more likely than women to claim during the summer months - often as a result of wandering eyes."
The name "Sheila's Wheels" alludes to the fact the firm's target customers are women.
